EDUHACK SERIESIn 2016 the Educraftor team set out on a mission to change the world. This series is part of that mission. Welcome to the evolution of education.
“For highschool students Eduhack is an awesome opportunity to rethink the very space they occupy every week – school and education. It’s also an excellent way for them to familiarise themselves with the world of business, to create and to have fun with old and new friends in a relaxed atmosphere.
For us others, Eduhack is a cool hackathon with interesting cases, forerunner companies and top-notch mentoring. Highly recommended!”
– Veli-Pekka Virtanen, SHIFT Business Festival
Eduhackin tiimi on tehnyt todella hienoa työtä tapahtuman järjestämisessä. Tällaista lisää!”
– Pekka Peura, opettaja ja Startup-lukion rehtori
“As a mentor, I loved the enthusiasm I sensed from the students. They worked well in groups and showed expertise rooted from their own experiences within the tasks they had tackled. From a brand perspective, this is a wealthy asset when working with young people — they have that juvenile, post-digital mindset that many companies only crave!
I also want to highlight the initiative of bringing hackathons to different industries, since Eduhack is a prime example. I see this very beneficial way of introducing students at all levels to new means of utilizing their profession and gaining top experiences. Thanks, Eduhack!”
– Markus Hangelin, Nike Digital Brand Specialist
“The hackathon event gave students a front row seat to new ways of thinking to develop the ability to provide innovation solutions to real life problem. It’s weekend format is an excellent model for students to quickly to work on practically skills for the future of jobs such as cooperation, critical thinking and communication. This is only the beginning and I am looking forward to working with Educraftor to support the decentralization of higher education into new learning communities such as EDUHACKS. The future belong to the curious and a person’s ability to overcome challenges and find opportunities will largely depend on a person’s ability to recognize and adapt to the changes that are already underway.”
– Adam Dorfman, founder IFWHENTHEN
ABOUT THE SERIES
A hackathon is a place where people come together and use creativy and teamwork to turn ideas into reality. Too floaty? Try this instead…
Over a period of 3 days, we bring together students, designers, educators, entrepreneurs and coders to work on real-life challenges set by real-life companies. You may start from nothing, you will ideate, debate, sweat and tears will surround you as you watch the clock.
You’ll panic, last minute pivot? Who knows? Check the challenge again, are you being innovative enough? Have you chosen the right colour pallete for your presentation? What about photos, do they set the right mood?
You’ve spent the last 48 hours pouring everything you have, physically and mentally, into developing something that, no matter what, you know you’re proud of!
That is the bottom line, the process you go through, it’s called innovation. Creating something from nothing and proudly sharing it with the world, because there might be someone somewhere who can benefit from what you’ve created. Maybe that person is sitting right in front of you, maybe they’re on the otherside of the world.
Giving students the opportunity to experience this type of event is the motivation behind the Eduhack series.
